These Parishes include Ntaala, Bulembo, Green Zone,  Kidera Town council and Kiwongoile.

The Project Coordinator for this Project Mr. Wansadya Joshua Mbodhogo says that during the  prevailing fourth quarter implementation which started June 2023 , alot of activities have been accomplished.

Demonstration gardens have set up in each parish at host farmers homes to enable us train farmers in banana, cassava and dairy goats farming and general crop agronomy and animal husbandry. These demo gardens are Vital because they are being used as training areas for the farmers and school students in acquiring practical skills and identifying the different diseases that might affect both the crops and animals for proper management, Says Joshua

We have been conducting numerous farmers training meetings and trainings on how to grow banana tissues, Spacing and measurements, applying manure, and others. And all these activities have helped the farmers to be more knowledgeable on banana plantation management before they are given banana Tissues for planting, Mbodogho Narrates.

we supplied banana tissues to six parishes of  kidera sub county(Buyende district) and  310 families( farmers) received banana tissues.  all farmers who  got banana tissues planted well  due to the prevailing rainy season in July 2023. After the initial Training of farmers, we carried out research on the best banana tissues which can tolerate the drought climate of the area hence assurance of improved yield and   favorable.

After planting   banana tissues, farmers  faced a problem of heavy rains between September and November which destroyed many of the crops. Currently, the prevailing dry spell is affecting the crops, however with support of the the  WASH Projects, the communities have received  boreholes hence helping   farmers to get water for irrigating their crops.
