Eradicating Hunger in Kidera through Cassava Planting

In Uganda, food and nutrition security remains high on the country’s development
agenda.

In the eastern region of uganda, approximately 208,000 people are estimated to be food insecure and 387,000 people are deemed to be moderately food insecure . Given the acute nature of food insecurity, this region became DLLN’s  priority for future food security and nutrition interventions.

Our first attempt was made in Kidera ( Buyende District)  where we innitiated household cassava planting in November 2020 and the project is progressing posivitively. Cassava planting materials  were distributed to the farmers of Kidera sub county.
